At 557m above sea level, Pendle Hill provides awesome wind/lift.
On weekends, public holidays and presumably school summer holidays it can get very busy with walkers making safe soaring impractical.
On Barley Lane approx 200 meters to the north of the bridleway a field on the left hand side can provide for electric, towed or bungie flight for those not brave enough for the walk to the top. Please be aware, I have absolutely no idea who owns this land, or permissions required, I have just witnessed people flying there unhindered.
Access
Park to the south at the entrance to the bridleway. Do NOT drive up the bridleway, it is a private road for the use of the farm only.
Access is via the bridle way followed by a very rocky pathway diagonally up Pendle Hill. The walk up the hill is particularly arduous, leaving journey time anywhere from 20 minutes to 45 minutes.
An alternative route from the North may be easier going, but I've not explored this as yet, if anybody has any information on this, please contact me through the Contact page.
